Today on the WEIC.US Daily Report we will discuss the recent set of airline industry safety blunders. On Monday an Airbus A380 clipped a much smaller commuter plane while taxiing, spinning the smaller plane 90 degrees. This comes after other public airline mishaps, one of which involved the fuselage of a 737 developing a large hole mid-flight, and other incidents involving sleeping air traffic controllers.
The list of cuts agreed upon for the 2011 budget has been released. These included billions cut to highways, high speed rail, and public health programs. In addition to the cuts, increases in funding were announced for the Pentagon and the VA.
A Chicago school has banned packed lunches, after school administrators observed the poor nutritional content of the lunches students brought for themselves. Is requiring students to eat school-provided food a case of government overreaching, or a necessary step to ensure good nutrition for children?
